Funke Akindele’s Behind The Scenes has climbed to ₦2.4 billion at the Nigerian box office, strengthening its position as the country’s biggest cinema film this season.
The distributor, FilmOne Entertainment, said the figure makes the film the highest-grossing release of the year and the top-grossing film of the weekend.
The update follows an earlier milestone in January, when FilmOne announced the movie had crossed the ₦2 billion mark, a first for a Nollywood film in West Africa. Reports at the time put the gross at ₦2,103,039,706, as the movie continued its run across cinemas nationwide.

Behind The Scenes was released in December 2025 and has stayed on top of the holiday-and-new-year box office conversation, helped by repeat viewings and steady cinema traffic.
The film’s momentum has also revived wider debate about just how far Nigeria’s theatrical market can go when a major title lands with strong marketing, premium showtimes and broad audience appeal.
